Introduction to Segmental Acupuncture is a practical overview of several commonly applied segmental acupuncture methodologies. This course will deepen your understanding of how acupuncture works, regardless of lineage, and improve your clinical outcomes with tried-and-true segmental acupuncture techniques. The material is applicable first thing back at work.
This 3 day-long course will review the anatomy and embryological development of the somatic and autonomic nervous systems. Therapeutic applications for both internal medicine and pain management will be discussed. Acupuncture and manual therapy treatment approaches for mesodermal derivatives - dermatomal, myotomal and sclerotomal and autonomic regulation for chronic pain conditions and internal medicine conditions will be covered. Techniques taught include Gunn's Intramuscular Stimulation, Mann's periosteal pecking, Lawrence’s osteopuncture, cutaneous nerve stimulation, ligamentous and myofascial release of spinal tissues and electroacupuncture "shotgun techniques" such as Craig PENS and perfusion.
